My last Uni assignement was handed in on Tuesday and since then I seem to have had quite a bit of free time on my hands...time which I wanted to use wisely sorting things out before my internship starts on Monday. Of course I have done nothing that I had planned to. I havn't sorted out my debit card ( I still have a shitty cashbuilder card which I can't use ANYWHERE!) and my wardrobe still looks like a rocket has blown it up and I think that spiders may be starting to appear in the corners of my room because I havn't properly cleaned it in SOO long... but... instead of sorting this out what do I do? I laze around reading magazines and watching films! Films which I have seen many maaany times before but can watch over and over again. Except today, as I was looking through my dvd collection, I can across "Funny Face" - The Audrey Hepburn and Fred Astaire classic which I had NEVER watched untill now. It was a very easy film, light and predictable and the outfits were as elegant as always, but I suppose you will find that in all of her films.
I love Audrey Hepburn, she a an idol in her own right and still looked gracefull and beautiful during her last years, but there is just one thing that bothers me about her films. Why does she always end up falling in love with a man is who twice her age? And why does this love never seem believable to me? They just seem to fall for each other out of no-where..I mean, maybe thats the way it worked back in those days. Or maybe I'm just looking into this way too much.... but either way, I find it odd. Its not the kind of love you see in a film like "The Notebook", you know what love im talking about! The "if I'm not with you then I may aswell not be alive" kinda love which pulls on the audiences heart strings and makes you forget that what your watching is actually fiction. Her movies have never done that to me.Never-the-less, if you havn't watched the film then I suggest you do so, if not because of her then because of the amazing scenery and gorgeous outfits. Also, theres a very funny scene where she does an incredibly awkward and cringe worthy dance.. I'm sure it will amuse you as much as it amused me!
